Allison & Tom - Happy Hydrangea

Mr. and Mrs. K. had a beautiful wedding at Manor House on Saturday. Guests were greeted by a flower "K" on the door.



Allison loves hydrangea, so we used it in as many places as possible. Here it was placed in a double tiered black wired basket which was placed inside the hearth at Manor House.

Allison chose pink, green, and white with accents of brown for her wedding colors. Her bouquet was made up of a touch of ruscus, Esperance roses, and white ranunculus. Yes, these are ranunculus in her bouquet - not white roses! They were fantastic. I have never worked with ranunculus that huge before. I just loved them and thought Allison's bouquet was so pretty, feminine, and full.

Bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink ranunculus surrounded by gaylax leaves and a matching pink bow. The MOH carried white ranunculus as her bouquet. The unopened white ranunculus added a touch of green to her bouquet.

We used beautiful white washed baskets of baby's breath, hydrangea, pink roses, and gladiolus at the church. The two baskets looked lovely flanking the altar.

The placecard table was enhanced by a triple tiered cake plate filled with "layers" of flowers. Crystals and beading dangled from each of the layers. This piece looked fabulous and of course, white and pink hydrangea crowned the top of the arrangement.

Three different centerpieces were used on the tables. Allison made monogrammed cards which we placed on ribbon and used on squares of hydrangea, tulips, bouvardia, and ranunculus. Pink floral foam was enhanced in squares by pink and brown polka dotted ribbon at the base. A variety of pink and white flowers were mixed with brown hypericum berries. The third centerpiece contained various heights of pillar candles nestled in pink rose petals on a gold charger plate that looked so pretty on the gold and ivory tablecloths.

Barbara & Tom - Hot Colors at the Downtown Club

The Downtown Club in Philadelphia is one of my very favorite places to work in Center City. The view from their large windows is outstanding. On Friday, the Spring weather was also picture perfect. What a fabulous day and a fantastic place for Barbara and Tom to choose to get married.
Barbara and Tom wanted to use bright colors to jumpstart the Spring season. We mixed oranges, pinks, and corals to accomplish this. Bridesmaids carried bright bouquets of orange roses and hot pink alstromeria. Barbara carried a beautiful bouquet made up of ivory roses, coral roses, and pink lilies. The ivory rose was used for Tom's boutonniere and groomsmen used the coral roses from Barbara's bouquet.

Since the DTC has such a large table for placecards, we used three vases on it for this wedding. Folded tropical leaves, pink and orange gladiolus, and palm leaves sprayed from a vase of green acrylics. Flanking the large vase were two smaller versions of the same vase filled with palm leaves and tulips in opposing colors.

The sweetheart table displayed vases of orange floral foam with ivory roses and pink floral foam with coral roses. These vases alternated with votive candles for that special glow.

Hot pink vases sported orange bow ties. We placed orange tulips and bear grass in each of them for the cocktail tables.

Tall vases of blooming cherry blossoms looked great in the ballroom with the beautiful high ceilings. We tied on ribbon streamers of orange and pink on the branches. The other two centerpieces consisted of hot pink orchids over orange acrylics and bouquets of orange and hot pink roses sitting on hot pink acrylics. Spring was in the air!

We used orange and hot pink spray roses to finish off Barbara & Tom's wedding cake.

Brianna & Jason - Regal Red Roses

Brianna and Jason wanted a dramatic look to their wedding and chose a red, white, and black color palette. Brianna's very favorite flowers are red roses, so we decided to use them almost everywhere. To the red roses in her textured bouquet we added white freesia, greens, and variegated lily grass. The groom obviously wore a red rose boutonniere.

Bridesmaids wore long black gowns. Free form bouquets were primarily made up of red roses and white freesia, but we added some whimsical hot pink alstromeria into the mix. We grouped gaylax leaves on the back and tied everything up with white satin ribbon and black pins.

This placecard arrangement was made in a large silver trumpet vase. We constructed a large "head" of red roses, all with crystals in the center. Red rose petals were scattered at the base and in between all of the rows of the black and white placecards. All of arrangements were set up on tables covered with black overlays. White napkins and white china added a wonderful contrast. Brianna wrapped her favor boxes in black/white damask paper tied with a red ribbon and set them up in the center of the white dishes. They looked perfect!

Submerged red roses combined with red acrylics made up the cocktail table arrangements. We surrounded the cylinders with red rose petals.


Low centerpieces consisted of red roses, red votives, and red rose petals. The light from the candles bounces off the glass and looks beautiful.

Brianna wanted dramatic high centerpieces so we brought in her color palette by adding red roses to red, white, and black ostrich feathers set into a container filled with red, white, black, and clear marbles. At the base of the vase are four squares of red roses which alternate with candles.

Easy Easter Centerpieces

There are so many fun things you can fill with flowers for your Easter table besides baskets. Here we've filled bunny mugs, a decorated watering can, and a bucket which we painted with "flowers" and added a white picket fence. Spring flowers like tulips, hyacinth, forsythia, and iris are so gorgeous that they add color and smiles to whatever container you use. We've also added a picture of our little purple friend. She's a happy Easter bunny that we've created from Florigene purple carnations. We've dressed her up in a little Easter hat so that she's ready to hop right on over to your house.
