Sarah and Joe - Magic at Manor House

I do have to say that Sarah is one of the most talented brides that I've ever worked with. She was very involved with the details of her wedding and created some wonderful things with which to decorate Manor House. I hope to get pictures of the wreath she made for the door and the letters she painted for the entryway mantle. She does beautiful work and I'd hire her in a minute if anyone needs a special craft made for their wedding. Plus she is a lovely lady as well!

Sarah's bouquet was so "happy" - just like Sarah! It was made up of dark pink roses, orange roses, dark pink mini gerbers, orange mini gerbers, and bright green hypericum berries. We tied it off with a sash of bright pink ribbon. Joe wore a boutonniere of a dark pink rose surrounded by an orange wire halo.


Sarah's bridal party carried bouquets of brightly colored gerber daisies. Groomsmen wore boutonnieres of orange roses surrounded by green hypericum berries.

The placecard table arrangement was a bright mix of pink, green, and orange flowers plus a lot of swirly ting ting to add some fun!

We used lime green "rain" in these squares that sat on the cocktail tables. Inside we placed bright pink gerber daisies and added more swirls of orange ting ting.

This arrangement is probably my favorite because it was truly a collaborative effort between Sarah and myself. She painted the pot and made the "balls" of yarn in her wedding colors. I added all of the flowers. I just love how this piece turned out. It looked so bright seated on the ledge in the entryway fireplace.

We put an assortment of flowers in various bottles that Sarah collected on the mantles in the livingroom.

The sweetheart table was decorated with roses and pink hydrangea used in the table centerpieces.

We did a variation of a centerpiece in the same types of flowers, but in different colors in vases that Sarah wrapped in ribbon. So pretty and colorful!

Stephanie & Gary - Willowy Walking Sticks

Stephanie wanted a wedding that reflected a more natural look in a color pallete of orange, white, and green. She also wanted to make use of the "walking sticks" (corkscrew willow) on her mom's property, so we used them in as many places as possible, including her bouquet. Other flowers included roses, dahlias, Ladies Mantle, calla lilies, stock, and stephanotis - because she's Steph! Gary also wore a calla lily boutonniere. We also incorporated other natural elements such as pheasant feathers, river rocks, and equisetum.

Bridesmaids carried bouquets of orange roses and hypericum berries. Groomsmen wore boutonnieres of green roses with hypericum berries.

Bolingbroke was the perfect place for Stephanie and Gary's wedding. It has such a lovely area for a ceremony and really beautiful grounds. We decorated the railing with long baskets of asclepias, stock, and walking sticks to further enhance Stephanie's natural looking flower ideas.

For the entryway, we created a large arrangement of tropical greens, asclepias, Chinese lanterns, walking sticks, and pheasant feathers supplied by Stephanie's mom. I love this design.

There are several fireplace mantles in Bolingbroke. We aligned squares of river rock and lilies in the entry way. We created a more formal arrangement of flowers for the livingroom mantle. And Stephanie created the mantle decorations in the Library with a great vase of walking sticks of course! And she covered the Diningroom mantle with framed pictures of Gary and her.

Stephanie collected an array of small bottles. We used a variety of flowers in them to decorate the cocktail tables.

We made four different types of centerpieces incorporating orange, green and white flowers as well as walking sticks.

And as a finale, we touched up the cake with orange spray roses and green button mums. The combination of colors was so bright and cheerful - just like Stephanie!

Tricia & Bruce - Una bella nozze

I had worked at Pen Ryn Mansion several times, but never at Belle Voir. So when Tricia contacted me about doing her wedding there, I got excited. After I met with Tricia, I was thrilled. We had such a good time at our meeting and I was really hoping that we would be working together. I'm so glad that we did because she's a lot of fun.

Tricia wanted her centerpieces to have the feeling of a garden in Tuscany, Italy. So I set out to find containers that would work and complement her color pallete of burgundy, deep red, and ivory. And I believe that we succeeded nicely.

Tricia's bouquet was made up of cockscomb, Black Magic roses, hypericum berries, and dahlias - a beautiful mix of formal and "gardeny" wedding flowers. Bruce's rose/berry boutonniere was a perfect match to Tricia's flowers.




The Matron and Maid of Honor carried bouquets made up of ivory spray roses, Black Magic roses, and berries.





Bridemaids' bouquets were made up of Black Magic roses and berries.

The flower girl had her own bouquet of ivory roses and berries.

Mothers carried petite bouquets made up of ivory roses, berries, and mums.

We collected twelve fabulous bottles into which we put ivy and bits and pieces of various flowers to sit on the cocktail tables. We wanted them to look as if we went out in our garden, plucked a few stems, and then placed them in our prettiest olive oil bottles with a touch of ribbon.

We found ceramic containers that had an "Old World" feel to them and used two styles for their centerpieces. One contained a mix of burgundy and white flowers including roses, hydrangea, mums, carnations, and alstromeria. The other held two shades of zinnias, cattails and cockscomb. We used a smaller version of these containers on Tricia and Bruce's sweetheart table as well. Tricia was going to place her bouquet between the two flower arrangements. Felicitazioni!

Stephanie & Nicholas - Happy Hydrangea

Stephanie chose a summery color pallete of white and light blue for her flowers that suited her wedding perfectly. Nothing says summer like hydrangea, so Steph chose to focus on that beautiful flower for bouquets. Stephanie carried blue hydrangea with white spray roses inserted throughout as well as lovely white mini calla lilies. Nicholas wore a matching calla lily boutonniere as well. Bridesmaids carried white hydrangea with touches of light blue delphinium sprinkled throughout. Groomsmen wore white roses with a touch of delphinium as well.

For church, we lined the aisles with white pew bows which looked so nice against the wood of the pews. To the bows in the family rows we added a bit of spray roses. We created a large altar arrangement of white and blue flowers which added just the right touch of color to the altar.

Re-visiting the Foundry in Phoenixville

If you haven't checked out the Foundry in Phoenxville for your next event, you're missing out on an amazing site for a wedding or party. My dad had a mens clothing store in Phoenixville for 22 years and I remember when this building was a working steel mill. It's now been turned into a wonderful small museum and an incredible place for a party. This event was put on by the fabulous folks from Columbia Station (another wonderfully unique reception site) - Robert Ryan catering. We did large, eye-catching floral pieces to coordinate with the yellow, black, and white color pallete they were using. Check them out - you'll be glad you did.

Amanda & Mike - Bubbling Over With Joy

Amanda chose a wonderful color pallete of pink, white, and black. We worked with some beautiful orchids and some fun centerpiece ideas using Aquagems - which I call bubbles. I think the results are fabulous and Amanda was a delight to work with.
Her gown - which I will get a picture of - was spectacular. The beading work all over it was especially pretty. Even one of the male waitors at Normandy Farms told her how pretty her dress way. She looked so beautiful!

Amanda carried a bouquet of gorgeous Esperance roses. I painted the pins in her stephanotis to match the pink of the roses. It looked fantastic! Yet another way to show off one of my favorite roses.

Mike's boutonniere matched Amanda's stephanotis in her bouquet and we added painted greens as an accent.

Bridesmaids - in black dresses of course - carried pink and white bouquets of alstromeria and roses. Groomsmen wore spray rose boutonnieres to match.

It looked like Normandy Farms planted those flowers climbing up the trellis just for this wedding. They matched perfectly. And we made a spray of pink and white flowers for the top of the arch to balance out the sides.

Cute arrangements of orchids and mini gerber daisies were put on the cocktail tables.

A fun "lamp" sat among the black and white placecards. The crystals inside looked very much like bubbles. The vase was lit up from both the bottom and the top.

We used three different square centerpieces for the tables consisting of two low and one high - and of course bubbles! The first centerpiece with white bubbles in the base contained trachelium, dendrobium orchid blooms, and hydrangea.

The second low centerpiece consisted of "greens" , pink roses, hydrangea, and pink bubbles.

I couldn't believe how many beautiful pink cymbidium orchids came on the stems that we ordered. They were gorgeous. In the bottom of the vases we used the bubbles in black and surrounded the outside of the tall vases in polished black river rocks.

This cake is too cute. There are even bubbles on the layers. I love it!
