Jamie & Seth - Springtime at Sawaii

This was our first time at the Sawaii restaurant's banquet room. The restaurant itself has been completely renovated and looks beautiful. We're anxious to go back and try the food. The menu looks great and very reasonable. I'm so glad that I met Jamie and that she "introduced" us to this place. The new owners are a lovely couple.

For her ceremony, Jamie carried a gorgeous bouquet made up of pink tulips which perfectly matched the throats of the cymbidium blush orchids. White roses and stephanotis with the same pink pins inside completed her bouquet. It's a shame my picture is so dark, but as you know, I'm a terrible photographer. I can't wait to see professional pictures. Seth wore a matching cymbidium boutonniere.



Bridesmaids' bouquets were made up of beautiful pink alstromeria studded with brighter pink spray roses. Stems were wrapped in brown ribbon secured with pink pins. Groomsmen wore boutonnieres of the pink alstromeria.

The centerpiece on the head table was made up of white roses and pink tipped carnations. The square was wrapped in a hot pink ribbon with white polka dots.

We had pink and brown satin chair bows made for Jamie and Seth's chairs. They looked terrific and showed off the bride and groom's seats in a fabulous way.

We wanted to bring Spring inside and coordinate with Jamie's pink and brown color pallete. We accomplished this by putting spring flowers into more glass squares and tying them up with a coordinating ribbon. Pink tulip squares were tied with brown ribbon with pink polka dots. White iris were wrapped with pink ribbon with white polka dots. Pink alstromeria squares were tied with pink ribbon with brown polka dots. They looked terrific with the pink napkins and brown favor boxes for this afternoon wedding reception.

Robert and Patricia - Pretty Purple Posies

Patricia and Robert wanted lots and lots of purple, with accents of white, for their wedding decor. My favorite color is purple, so I was more than happy to oblige. I don't think you can ever have too much purple. We came up with some great ideas to carry through their colors.
Patricia's bouquet was a beautiful combination of purple lisianthus, purple tulips, and stephanotis with pearls in their center. Robert wore a matching lisianthus/stephanotis boutonniere.


Bridesmaids carried bouquets of pretty purple carnations and white tulips. We wrapped their stems in their dress fabric.


It may be difficult to see but we have floating silver angelhair wire inside the placecard arrangement vase. It looks really great in person and we received a lot of compliments on this piece when we brought it into the Townsend Room. We topped it off with orchids, alstromeria, and various tropical leaves.






The three centerpieces we designed were simple, but highlighted really pretty purple flowers like floating orchids, alstromeria, carnations and hydrangea. We added purple votives, wrapped tropical leaves inside vases, and added a Monstera leaf placemat to make them all a little more unique.

Melissa & Joe - Soft pinks and greens at Knowlton Mansion

Melissa's color pallete for her wedding were soft and lovely pinks and greens, with a touch of brown. We were also able to try something new at this wedding. We created a "bed" of carnations into which we placed a "B" of roses. Knowlton Mansion has a rectangular table onto which placecards are placed. It's hard to do a large tall arrangement in this area, so we created this piece - which I think was really cute. Melissa also had Synergetic Sounds create a light monogram on the dance floor wall that looked really pretty. No one was going to forget that the Boyces were in the house!

Melissa held a soft looking bouquet of hydrangea, ranunculus, green carnations, and Ladies Mantle. We wrapped her stems in pink satin ribbon secured by a line of soft green pins.

Bridesmaids held dainty bouquets of ranunculus and bouvardia.

We used antique looking white wicker containers to hold lots and lots of Baby's breath - and a large pink bow - at the ceremony pergola.

An old-fashioned looking arrangement of roses, Queen Anne's lace, green carnations, football mums, and flat fern graced the entry table. It fit right in with Knowlton's old fashioned look.

Three centerpieces of varying heights were placed on the tables. High pieces were filled with cherry blossoms, apples, and beading. Green apples made another appearance in the mid-height centerpieces topped off with hydrangea, Esperance roses, and angel vine. Low centerpieces consisted of tulips, curly willow, pink roses, and touches of cherry blossoms.

Hayli and Joe - A Profusion of Pretty Peacock Feathers

Under an arch with a spray made from gorgeous blue/purple delphinium, larkspur, hydrangea, eryngium, limonium, and greens, Hayli and Joe got married at Center Square GC last weekend. I had a blast working with Hayli. She's very creative and allowed us to come up with some really fun ideas...as long as we incorporated LOTS of peacock feathers. No problem of course!

Hayli carried a textured mix of green roses, lily grass, eryngium, larkspur, hypericum berries and of course, peacock feathers. We pinned the black satin ribbon using the colors in the feathers. Hayli looked so pretty posing with her Dad.

Bridesmaids carried a natural mix of feathers, larkspur, roses, hypericum berries and bear grass loops.

Hayli painted her cocktail table containers with a fleur di lis to match a treasure chest for envelopes which she also painted. She used my black wire "trees" to hang her placecards from. I think the peacock roosting on the top is terrific.

Three types of centerpiece incorporating lots of peacock feathers among the flowers, were used. The lows were cylinders of many types of green, purple and blue flowers on a "mat" Hayli made of the feathers. I love this one. Medium height centerpieces consisted of vases of purple glass with green hydrangea and black branches dotted with green orchids. And finally, tall cylinders, containing black marbles and a trio of peacock feathers were topped off with lots of greens, black branches, and stems of purple and white dendrobium orchids.

And what peacock feather wedding would be complete without feathes on the green waterfall of flowers on the cake.!

A Grand Surprise

I received the cutest gift from one of my brides today. It's an adorable cookie bouquet - in her wedding colors! I absolutely love it and wanted to share it with everyone. What a fabulous idea for a gift for anyone! Allison - thank you so much for making not just my day - but my week. Your note and the gift mean a lot to me. Your thoughtfulness is incomparable.

Jess & Mike - Black and Blue at Blue Bell CC

I'm feeling a little bit nostalgic about Jess and Mike's wedding. It's the last of the weddings I've done for a great group of friends. It all started in 2006 when I did the flowers for Courtney A's wedding. I first met Jess at a meeting I had with Courtney. She and Courtney have been best friends for many years. Then, in 2008, it was Kerry's turn to get married and again, we did her flowers. Kerry is the third in this trio of best friends. I have great pictures of Jessa and Courtney in Kerry's wedding and now I have a picture of Kerry with Jess at her wedding. We've come full circle

with this last wedding and I have to say that I'm feeling a little sad that I won't be hearing about these lovely ladies or seeing their pictures at any more weddings. It was wonderful to be even a small part of their world.

Jessica used a color pallete of blue, black, and white. We were able to add black with vases, ribbon, and the centers of white anemones to lots of hydrangea, roses, and delphinium. She also wanted to add a touch of the beach, which we accomplished by using sea shells in her glass vases.

Jess' bouquet was a gorgeous textured mix of all white flowers that included peonies, lisianthus, stock, lily of the valley, and baby's breath with a touch of greens. It was not only beautiful to look at, but the scent from the peonies, stock, and lily of the valley was amazing. I don't have a picture of her stem wrap, but we used layers of lace that Jess gave us, a rhinestone buckle, and her blue rosary. It was really unique. I love the blue sash on her wedding gown too.

Bridesmaids carried bouquets of blue hydrangea studded with white anemones.

At the end of the aisle we filled antique looking wicker containers with hydrangea, delphinium, and Queen Anne's lace.

We lined the aisle with hanging cones of blue hydrangea topped off with black bows.

Shells filled the tall glass vases which were completed with hydrangea, delphinium and larkspur. We matched the shape of the vases with black gathering vases filled with roses, delphinium, tulips, and anemones. These same vases, in smaller versions, lined the sweetheart table.

Kasey & Matt - Perfect Polka Dots

Kasey and Matt are the most adorable couple and were a joy to work with. They wanted a wedding using a green, white, and black color pallete.... with polka dots. Fortunately their are a lot of great green flowers and we managed to add accents of black with ribbon, feathers, and some paint. What a fun color combination! Kasey chose a bouquet of Avalanche roses which are white roses with just a tinge of green to them. We added calla lilies and some stephanotis with light green pins in them. Matt wore the same stephanotis in his boutonnniere.

Bells of Ireland played a prominent role in the attendents' flowers. Roses sat upon a floret of Bells for the groomsmen and were mixed in among other green flowers for the bridesmaids. We used green on green polka dotted ribbon for their stem wrap.

We decorated the arch at Normandy Farm with a garland of fresh greens and "dotted" it with white roses. It added just the right touch to the setting for the ceremony.

I encourage my brides (and grooms) to take on a project for their wedding. I think it adds such a personal touch. Kasey and Matt did a fantastic job on their aisle buckets. They painted them and added the beautiful green ribbon. We filled them with white roses and green limonium. They looked perfect leading up to the arch. Great job!

White fugi mums sat atop squares full of green bubbles. They look like polka dots to me! We'll be using them a lot more in some of our upcoming weddings.

Black and white ostrich feathers made their appearance among the flowers in the placecard table arrangement. The placecards were really pretty. Kasey and Matt added a lot of wonderful details to this wedding in their programs, menus, and polka dotted wrapped favors.

Three different contemporary centerpieces highlighted the color scheme. We filled squares with equisetum, hydrangea and hypericum berries. A pyramid of green roses was also constructed in squares. We repeated the equisetum in tall squares topped off with a mix of green and white flowers. We also painted some tropical leaves black to add some extra interest.
